Children’s author Ursula Dubosarsky has been chosen as the Australian Children’s Laureate for 2020–21.
The theme of Dubosarsky’s two-year term will be ‘Read for your life’. Dubosarsky told Books+Publishing she hopes to increase the number of children who join their local library during her time as Laureate.

Each month, James Bennett’s Book Marked will showcase titles, share Laureate related activities, and provide updates on the Laureate’s monthly theme, as we follow her around Australia. In the meantime, if you want to find out more about Ursula, read on...

Story Box Library recently filmed a number of stories with Ursula and asked her all they could about her love of books and writing, and her passion for libraries.
In this short three-minute film, you can get to know a bit about Ursula's focus for the two years to come as the Australian Children's Laureate and the magic that can be found with the simple swipe of a library card.
In Story Box Library’s longer short film, you can discover who Ursula is as a writer and a Laureate, as well as her passion for language.
