We have some exciting updates to share with you regarding our customer service team:
We are now Client Services.
Although we have a new name, you can continue to expect the same great service that James Bennett is known for, and we will be allocating each library a dedicated Client Services Team member.
As some of you may be aware we have been training an additional two new staff members who joined us recently, and we are now ready to announce the States and Territories each team member will be working with.
Below is our new Client Services Team; we have included a little background information and contacts details. We will be in touch directly to advise if there any changes to your current contacts, as we introduce our updated team to all of you.

Claire joined James Bennett in 1999 as a member of the Operations team, and has held various roles within the company. Claire has been a part of the Client Services Team for a number of years; and has a deep understanding of libraries and their requirements. Claire is a valuable member of the team and many of our library customers know Claire, and will have worked with her throughout the years.

Melanie joined James Bennett just over three months ago and comes with a wealth of knowledge from the book retail industry. She completed a 3 year bookseller apprenticeship in Germany followed by a Master of Arts in German Language and Literature. Melanie was the Assistant Manager at one of Europe’s biggest bookstores Mayersche Droste in Duesseldorf, where she also was part of the buying team! 10 years ago Melanie moved to Australia and in that time she managed Abbey’s Language Book Centre in Sydney.

Jan joined James Bennett three months ago and has a range of experience throughout the book world having worked in a variety of libraries and bookshops. Jan has worked at the State Library of Tasmania, Shell Oil Company and College of Advanced Education Perth. Jan also ran her own bookshop and café for a time, and has worked at the Co-op Bookshop, Pages & Pages, Better Read than Dead and more recently at Bookoccino as a Children’s specialist/buyer.

Sarah joined James Bennett in 2008 and has over 10 years’ experience engaging with libraries; setting up reference standing orders, and working with digital products such as PressReader, Story Box Library and Destiny, as well as troubleshooting supply concerns. Sarah has been working with the Client Services Team and has now become a permanent member of the team.
