Welcome to a new year! Sharing stories about school life and first day nerves can help children of all ages with new routines, building confidence and making friends.

Watch stories in the library and encourage children to enjoy at home with family members, with Activity Time ideas to inspire creativity, fun and quality family time.

Encourage good bedtime routines and habits for back to school. Built into a fun and exciting narrative with practical tools for kids and parents, the ‘Sleep with Kip’ series is available to watch. Find bedtime stories for kids on Story Box Library here.

Closed captions support children with hearing impairments or difficulties, or those learning English as an Additional or Second Language (EAL or ESOL), allowing them to follow along with a text being read aloud by our storytellers. Read more about using Story Box Library as an EAL or ESOL resource here.

Libraries can also encourage patrons to leave captions on as a read along resource for children beginning to learn how to read at school. Read FAQs for assistance with closed captions.

Library Lovers’ Day falls on 14 February annually, and is an opportunity to celebrate the ways we love our libraries, and the things that only they can do. Here’s three ways to celebrate Library Lovers’ Day with Story Box Library.
