Exploring Nature in Bloom!

With the change in season and nature beginning to bloom in different and vibrant ways around us, why not check out these titles (and hundreds more), just waiting for you and your young readers to celebrate the beauty of the natural world!

One Thousand Trees, where Frankie dreams of a thousand trees, celebrates these amazing and wonderful plants in our everyday lives. From award-winning artist Kyle Hughes-Ogden, and read by inspiring actor and tree-hugger, Trevor Jamieson, why not come along on a journey to explore the joys of nature and art with us?

Little Bird’s Day, follows a day in the life of Little Bird, flying with Cloud and nestling with Moon. This gorgeous story is definitely worth a watch today. Written by Sally Morgan, illustrated by Johnny Warrkatja Malibirr and read by Bianca Hunt, as a subscriber, you’ll also have resources and activities to really explore all the wonders that this tale offers!

And while Little Bird is singing the world alive, it’s also magpie season. And that means one thing: keeping the eggs safe! Discover Nicole Godwin’s Swoopthe tale of Magpie, the clever, charming (and a whole lot of cheeky) bird so iconic at this time of year. Illustrated by Susannah Crispe and read by Roby Favretto, this is one story that’s sure to resonate. 

Walk of the Whales (also available as an Auslan title, too!), is a powerful story about a smart little girl who decides to ask the whales what we can all do to support our environment. Written and illustrated by bestselling author, Nick Bland and read by the wonderful Tamala Shelton, this story is sure to engage and provoke discussion!
