Customised Cataloguing Services

Our flexible configurations and workflows can accommodate options from simple to complex, shaping a solution tailored to your library's needs. We cater for libraries of all sizes and provide a full cataloguing service for English language print, audio visual, multimedia and e-resources.

James Bennett full MaRC records adhere to the full range of systems and schedules. Catalogue records are provided in MaRC 21 format via either FTP, email or direct download to your LMS.

Additional services include; order record uploads, authority work in your own catalogue, reservation monitoring, embedded item tag provided within the MaRC record, direct maintenance of item details in LMS, upload of records to the Australian National Biography Database, catalogue searching, catering for local rules and retrieval of existing records using z39.50 protocols.

Customised Technical Processing

We offer a comprehensive range of processing options and over 90% of the all materials we supply are end processed or catalogued. These services include but are not limited to:

Spine labels, black & white, colour and combination
Stamping
Labels, including barcode, collection, content, reference, full range of genres
Security options, including RFID enabling and preprinted encoded RFID tags
AV repackaging

Covering Options

James Bennett covering products are selected to protect and prolong the life of books in a library environment. Our suppliers are industry established within the Australian and International market and our preference is to offer options that are environmentally friendly.

All book covering is undertaken in-house and we have invested in technology and equipment to offer covering solutions that are practical, enduring and cost effective. We have completed extensive testing of many products and given the particular climate conditions in our libraries we have determined a James Bennett standard in covering.
