ALIA Announcement: most borrowed books 2016 Q1

25 May 2016

The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) has announced Australia’s most borrowed library books for the first quarter of 2016 to mark the start of Library and Information Week, which runs from 23-29 May. Sue McKerracher, Chief Executive Officer of ALIA, said: "Australian library users continue to reach for 'Gone Girl' by Gillian Flynn - it made it into the top 10 most borrowed books for the second year running. Of course, as season 6 of ‘Game Of Thrones’ is televised, readers are turning back to book one in the 'Song And Ice' fantasy epic by George R.R. Martin. It's also great to see Australian author Graeme Simsion's two books in the adult list and that sci-fi action trilogies are gripping young adult readers.”  You can read the announcement on the ALIA website here.
